The Ukrainian Lobbying Association invites you to a new Lobby Lab: Canada – a conversation with top lobbyists of Canada! Participants will discuss recent changes in Canadian lobbying legislation, the specifics of regulating the industry in the context of digitalization, reporting requirements, and liability mechanisms for violations of the law. Special attention will be paid to the Canadian approach to professional training of lobbyists and practices that may be useful for the development of the lobbying system in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Lobbying Association invites you to a new Lobby Lab: Canada – a conversation with top lobbyists of Canada!
Lobby Lab is a space for ideas and bold dialogue on lobbying.

Canada has been building a culture of ethical lobbying for decades. What lessons from this experience are worth knowing – we'll explore at the event:

🔹Updates to the Lobbying Act since the last major statutory milestone in 2012;

🔹Adapting the legislation to the modern, digital advocacy era;

🔹Reporting in the Registry of Lobbyists, сonsequences of non-compliance and criminal prohibitions under the Lobbying Act;

🔹The Canadian approach to formal education for lobbyists - Activity-Based, Not Credential-Based.

Sheamus Murphy – Managing Partner at the Counsel Public Affairs, Board Member at Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC). 

Muhammad Ali – Partner at the Crestview Strategy, Vice President at Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC). 

Hunter Doubt – Senior Manager of Government Affairs and Public Policy at Cohere, President of Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC).

Anna Lachykhina, Chair of the Board of the Ukrainian Lobbying Association, co-founder of Good Politics PR & GR agency.

In 2025, the Ukrainian Lobbying Association (ULA) and the Government Relations Institute of Canada (GRIC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a framework for cooperation to advance transparent, ethical and professional lobbying practices at the international level.
